Advice on the use of Graphics in Your Display
28 July 2014, Posted by Branding on Branding

We hope we have given you a range of handy hints in our most recent blogs, but we realised we had never really touched on the importance of graphics in your marketing materials. Often we get asked if good graphics really help increase your chances of attracting more customers, and the simplest answer is absolutely! If done right a good visual display not only draws consumers in but also leaves a lasting impression.

We thought we would share some of the advice we give to customers when they are preparing their next display.

Good Graphics Make a Lasting Impression on Viewers

Branding is not purely about content. As we all know, people nowadays are busy and have short attention spans. With that said, you only have between two to five seconds to impress and to convey your brand‘s message to them. And the best way to do that is through visual messaging (graphics and copy). By carefully planning and workshopping the visual elements of your display, you will be able to put your best brand forward and catch your market's attention.

Apply the “Less is More” philosophy when creating your graphics.

The key to catching the public‘s attention is to develop displays that are not crowded and confusing. If you put up something that is huddled with too many overlays with exaggerated colours and shapes, you are making a big mistake! Instead, opt for simple yet imposing designs that clearly communicate your brand or product message.

Brainstorm with other team members to get the best results.

Good design is subjective, which is why you need to get the insights of the other members of your creative team. Make sure when brainstorming you are designing with the end-user in mind. Looking at the creative through a customer’s eyes will ensure you are delivering the right messaging and are in the best position to achieve results.

Invest in Quality Displays

No matter how amazing your graphics may be, it will never look good when processed through a substandard printer. As an example, we only print top quality non-curling poly/sandtex laminated graphic, which provides a professional finish with bright colours that pop and are crisp. Additionally a high-quality graphic should be long-lasting, will not fade and be easy to maintain. Don’t short change your creative by using poor quality printing.

Remember that graphics will always play a vital role in positioning your brand or reaching your target audience. Be carefully studying what works best for your target market and by using prime and top-quality printing materials and processes, you will be able to step up and get noticed.
